Setting Up an Email Client

You can use your email with any program or device you’d like to that is POP3 compliant. We also provide a Webmail program for access right through our website.

You will need the following information to set up your email:

username: Your username is your email address, but using the % sign in place of the @ symbol. For example you%yourdomain.com.

password: Contact support if you don’t know it.

incoming mail server: mail.s17.com

outgoing mail server: Generally your bandwidth provider also provides the outgoing mail server. But, if needed, you may use our server, mail.s17.com. Check for new email at the beginning of a session to authenticate with the server before you try to send out.

Most all of the viruses and worms spread through email are the result of exploiting inherent security weaknesses in Outlook and Outlook Express. Other email clients, such as Netscape Communicator, are more secure and recommended.
